It's My Birtday and I'll Cry If I Want To

...because I have friends and family.

One of my loved ones told me today how, with my illness, he's amazed how I function.

Another said I'm an inspiration.

I received facebook, text, voice mail and a very very special card.

I have parents that think I'm somewhat as good as canned soup

My grandson is right this very moment going through my night stand and asking....well he can't get into the fun drawer.

I have a new friend and her beautiful dog .

I'm sick but  I'm also the luckiest man in the world as I found out today my list of friends is long and the people that love me deeply isn't a short list either.

Why did it take getting sick to get this?

Six hour and thirty four minutes ago the clock turned and I'm another year.  Pretty good all considering

Thanks everyone.  You are all better for me than any drug I'm given.

Love you all.

Talk to you later

  1. I love being called Friend, Thank you!

You know, I've heard it said that animals can help people feel better and I happen to know you have a special love for Golden Retrievers, which I also happen to have! As you are also aware of. Just say the word and I'll be happy to introduce you to her. Then if you like and it helps we can make weekly visits and by the way, I would also like to meet your wife . . . .

You know you also mentioned it's taken you getting sick to find out how many people truly love you and how many friends you have.... At least you know and you are being inspired by that knowledge

where on another note, my children just lost a friend to a hit and run accident (Miky Vu) it's been all over the news.... he was just 18 and just graduated from Clackamas High School where my Daughter also graduated. It amazes me how many people this young man touched and he never really knew. I mean he knew he had friends and I believe he knew he was loved, but I don't think he knew the debth of love and friendship he had.

YOU Mike, are fairly aware of the lives you are touching and the lives you have already touched, embrace that and let it carry you from day to day. You really are blessed!

Although it's sad, it may be inspiring too, Miky's funeral is this Saturday, tomorrow, and a benefit car wash in Sherries Parking lot also off of Sunnyside Rd. Same as Safeway's parking lot.... today from 9am to noon to help his family. Yes, my children will be there helping out and yes they will be at the church, Clackamas Forsquare Churh off of sunnyside road and 132, right on the corner. If you want to see just how many people this young man has touched the kids have built a memorial page on facebook, In memory of Miky Vu" I read it every night there is always something posted that is inspiring and often by another 18 year old. It amazes me just how much they feel and how inspiring they can be!

Off to bed..... it's after 2am
